| Seminar on "Customized Policy Wordings - effective from January 2009" At Ahmedabad - 14/03/2009. |
“UNISON” Ahmedabad organized One of the most Interactive Seminar on “Customized Policy Wordings effective January-2009” on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at “PRIDE HOTEL, AHEMEDABAD”.
The Seminar was the first of its kind with regard to expectations of the Customer, the views of the Industry, and, the Impact of Liberalization in Policy Wordings on all the insurers of the Industry. The Seminar was having a focal point of exchanging opinions, ideas and concepts, thus provided an ideal platform for an insight into the impact of de-tariffing.
Mr. Ashutosh Asthana, Director and General Manager United India Insurance Co. Ltd said that the Key changes in Insurance Industry are offing with particular reference to total De-tariffing with emphasis on recent changes permitted in policy wording by IRDA. The product decontrolling would create more opportunities for availability of innovative product on international line.
Mr. Gaurav Garg, Managing Director & CEO TATA AIG General Insurance Co. Ltd. Pointed out that though the insurance industry was facing problem of low penetration, no other market in south east asia had developed and matured so much in such a short span after decontrolling.
Mr. Paresh Shah, Head Insurance Division, Adani Group Of Companies, told that customer expects more clarity in policy wordings to avoid legal complications, confidence in insurers, total clarity in international guidelines and approach towards customers are some of the issues, which needs immediate attention of IRDA.
Mr. B. K. Sinha – Managi ng Director, Unison Insurance Broking Services said, at an initial stage of detariffing, the technical details of risk was not taken as seriously as erquired but as the market maturing the professional broker are playing a very important role in risk analysis, its prevention and product innovation. Proper risk assessment and adaptation of methodology of risk mitigation leads to ab better pricing of the product thus benefiting the customers too.
The seminar was attended by 150 participants including various corporate personnel from and around Ahmedabad. Most of the participants were vocal to have risk base pricing, industrial umbrella cover, reduction in claim excess in IAR and simplicity of spontaneous combustion cover.
The seminar was successful in it’s aim to provide common platform to insurers, surveyors and intermediaries to understand difficulties of each other, interact and spread awareness on upcoming developments amongst all valued customers of Unison Insurance.
