SEMINAR ON TOTAL LIBERALISATION IN GENERAL INSURANCE ON 16th FEBRUARY 2008 The General Insurance industry in India is undergoing sea change from partial liberalization to total liberalization which is likely to have a major impact on the insurance cost and coverage of our customers. Keeping in mind proposed changes UNISON organized a seminar on 16th February 2008 at Hotel Orchid, Mumbai. Insurance Sector demanded a hike in FDI limit from present 26% to 49% and exemption of service tax for health insurance. Detariffing would push the industry to become more efficient so as to reduce the expenses. It would also warrant an increase in deductibles and better claims minimizations.
